Superfibe Feed
Revolutionary Waste Fiber to Animal Feed Conversion Technology
Ruminants (cows, sheep, goats, buffalo etc.) have evolved and developed complex multiple stomach structures to specifcally use Nature’s most abundant food sources, fiber. Lignin, along with cellulose, makes up the cell walls of plants and together are two of the most abundant organic materials on Earth.
Although Two Billion tons of Cereal Straw are available worldwide, fber has historically not been accepted as an animal feed because ruminants fnd it diffcult to digest and unpleasant to eat. Only recently has the value of these important fbers are being appreciated. Superfb’s patented conversion of these undervalued materials to high- value, nutritious animal feed promises to transform the ability to utilize these vast resources.
Feed-Lot Trial Results:
- - Ten (10) Droughtmaster cross cattle were inducted in this trial.
- - Half were fed a (Bagasse Ration) and half on a grain-based ration
- - Cattle began trial on 12/05/2016
- - Although ‘raw’ bagasse is usually considered lowly palatable and
poorly digestible the Bagasse Ration group immediately began to eat without hesitation. Manure quality was good and odor low.
After 10 days the visual condition of the Bagasse Ration group looked superior. At the conclusion of the 55-day feed trial using cured bagasse, the cattle were sold. Results showed the cured ‘treated’ bagasse to be a viable food source: palatable, digestible, good animal well-being and weight gain.
Since beef feedlot production requires 12 lbs. grain for the production of 1 lb. of meat, Superfbe animal feed represents a major step forward with an alternative to grain based feed; with a proven, cost effective non-grain based animal feed for increased Global Food Security.
